It was 1898 when the young Austrian builder Vinzenz Kranebitter built the Vittoria Hotel on account of his niece, Mrs. Filomena Kranebitter of Telfs, married to the noble Festini of Casamazzagno.
The Vittoria Hotel was the first thermal centre in the area and hosted high-level guests, including the nobility of the House of Habsburg of Austria.
Mrs. Kranebitter realized in fact the beneficial properties of the waters of the two streams Padola and Risena, whose springs rise at more than 1300 meters above sea level, in a clearing surrounded by fir trees, 15 minutes from Valgrande. The waters were analyzed several times in the past and indicated as sulphurous ferruginous and great amounts of magnesium. It is actually a complex mixture of mineral salts that make them unique in its kind.
His daughter Rosa Prina Festini succeeded her mother in the management of the Vittoria Hotel.
In 1947 the Salesians of Pordenone acquired nearby structures and in the ‘60 also the Vittoria Hotel, creating the famous “Don Bosco” summer colony.
